Water leaks are one of the most common household issues homeowners and property managers face in Houston. In many cases, these leaks become apparent relatively soon and get addressed immediately. However, there are also many instances where water leaks go undetected for weeks or even months at a time. In order to address the problem in a timely manner, it is important to recognize these tell-tale signs that something is wrong and call professional help to fix the issue.

1. Your Monthly Water Bill Keeps Increasing

One of the first things that point to the existence of a hidden leak in your house is an unusually high water bill. An increase in the monthly water bill may mean that water is leaking from a place you cannot access yet and, thus, is wasting thousands of gallons of water every month. Checking your water bill regularly should therefore be the very first step you take when trying to find out whether your house has a water leak or not.

2. You See Damp Spots or Water Stains on Walls, Ceilings, or Floors

Another very common warning sign that indicates the presence of a leak in your property is unusual water stains appearing on your walls, ceiling, or floors.
